Washougal senior Elle Thomas chased down her second Class 2A Greater St. Helens League cross country title, winning the league championship meet in dominant fashion Tuesday at Lewisville Park.
Thomas, who also won as a sophomore, quickly opened a large lead and finished in 19 minutes, 19 seconds. That was 1:14 faster than second place Charlize Kellmer of Ridgefield.
Jacob McManus of Columbia River won the boys race as the Rapids placed four runners in the top five.
McManus, a junior, finished in 16:06 followed by teammate Neftali Menendez in 16:19. Kohl Ripplinger and Eli Wenger finished fourth and fifth, respectively, as the Rapids easily won the team title with 29 points.
Hockinson won the girls title with 68 points, 19 better than second-place Ridgefield.
Instead of the standard 5,000 meters, the course was remeasured Tuesday and found to be 5,230 meters.

- Jack Kendrick, Columbia River boys golf, won the 2A Greater St. Helens League Championship with a 3-under-par 67 at Mint Valley, helping the Rapids to the team title.
- Delaney Bollman and Zoey Mikkelson, Evergreen slowpitch softball. Bollman knocked in the tiebreaking run, and Mikkelson followed with a double for two insurance runs as the Plainsmen beat Columbia River.
- Ellie Rennells, Kelso slowpitch softball, was 3 for 4 with two doubles and five RBI as the Hilanders won at Prairie.
- Isabella Kruse, Prairie slowpitch softball, was 4 for 4 with two home runs and six RBI in the Falcons’ loss to Kelso.
- Nivayah Henry, Skyview slowpitch softball, went 3 for 3 with a double, home run, two RBI and scored three runs in the second game of a doubleheader the Storm swept Battle Ground/Heritage.
- Ella Berfanger, Union slowpitch softball, went 2 for 3 with four RBI and a triple in a 13-1 win over Camas.
- Avery Peterson, Skyview girls soccer, assisted on both second half goals as the Storm overcame a 1-0 deficit at halftime to beat Mountain View.
- Shaela Bradley, La Center girls soccer, scored an unassisted goal in the first half of a 1-0 win over King’s Way Christian.
- Hailey Herboth and Abby Gavora, Seton Catholic girls soccer. Herboth had a hat trick, and Gavora had three assists in the win over Fort Vancouver.
- Bella Graves, Columbia River girls soccer, made six saves in goal for a clean sheet as the Rapids beat Hockinson 3-0.
- Baylee Bushnell, Ridgefield girls soccer, had two goals and one assist in a 9-1 win over Hudson’s Bay.
- Addie Cameron, Prairie volleyball, had a team-high 11 kills as the Falcons swept Skyview to improve to 10-1.
- Lauren Dreves, Columbia River volleyball, had 17 kills and 11 digs as the Rapids swept Hockinson to improve to 14-0.
