Battle Ground Public Schools announced the following changes in administration for the 2023-24 school year. Unless noted otherwise, all personnel assignments have been approved by the school board and took effect on July 1.
Kevin Palena is now serving as the school’s principal for Battle Ground Virtual Academy, in addition to continuing his role as the principal at Summit View High School.
Stephanie Watts replaced Manny Melo, who resigned, as Prairie High School’s assistant principal and athletic director. Watts was formerly the director of human resources.
Luke LeCount will become the district’s new director of human resources for Battle Ground Public Schools, pending board approval. Previously, he was the director of instructional leadership for middle schools.
Travis Drake, current director of instructional leadership for high schools and alternative learning environments, also will provide middle school instructional leadership during the 2023-24 school year.
Schuyler Hoss of Vancouver was appointed to the Lottery Commission and Dustin Colegrove of Ridgefield was appointed to the Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery as part of the September 2023 monthly board and commission appointments made by Gov. Jay Inslee.
Boards and Commissions are designed to give Washingtonians a voice in their government and allow residents to influence decisions that shape the quality of life for all Washingtonians.
