Vancouver police are investigating after a woman was reportedly found dead Friday night near train tracks in downtown Vancouver.
Officers responded at 8:23 p.m. to the BNSF tracks near Esther and Cascade streets for a report of a dead person near the tracks. An engineer saw the woman and stopped rail traffic while he reported the incident. The woman was not struck by the train, according to police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.
The department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating. The woman’s identity had not been released as of Monday.
