Letter: Was COVID money returned?

Regarding James K. Thorne’s letter (“Return COVID funds to taxpayers,” Our Readers’ Views, Nov. 21), I wonder what he did with his stimulus checks that were sent several times to taxpayers during the COVID pandemic.

I would assume since he so strongly feels that “money not needed for its intended purpose” received by Clark County should be returned in order to lower the national debt, that the money he received was needed for basic necessities, such as food, rent, electricity, etc.

If he wasn’t in that situation, I certainly hope he returned the money in order to help lower the national debt. If he didn’t do that, he is not doing what he proposes the county should do, and therefore does not practice what he preaches.
