BATTLE GROUND — Educational Opportunities for Children and Families, a local provider of early learning care for children ages 3-5, announced the purchase of a 1.68-acre property in Battle Ground to house a new Battle Ground Early Learning Center.
The property, at 10300 N.E. 199th St. in Battle Ground, previously belonged to the Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church but has been used as an office and classroom for Head Start since 2002. The purchase cost $225,000 and was made possible with a $100,000 grant from the Cowlitz Tribal Foundation Clark County Fund through the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington.
“We are grateful for the support of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, Community Foundation of Southwest Washington and Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church,” said Rekah Strong, the CEO at Educational Opportunities for Children and Families. “Our shared investment into the purchase of land where our modular sits will allow (us) to continue to make generational impact for children and families in the Battle Ground community into perpetuity.”
