Letter: Return some money to citizens

By James Lindner, VANCOUVER
Published: November 24, 2023, 6:00am

I just got through reading about the $900 million from the new capital gains taxes. Add that to the over $1 billion from the carbon taxes. What are they going to do with all this money? Well, you could have a kicker refund for the residents (à la Oregon). Good luck having our fine Legislature returning money. Or let’s see, I think I read how Washington has the worst roads in the country. But the Legislature has all these pet projects that will benefit them. And you keep reelecting them. Baffling.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
