Letter: Trump is not fit for office

By Roy Wilson, Vancouver

Some loud voices want former President Donald Trump reelected. And why not? Absolutely, let us reelect the only former American president who:

  • Assured us COVID was “completely under control,” just before it snuffed out the lives of over 1 million Americans. (And said it would go away on its own, but advised us to inject ourselves with a lethal disinfectant.)
  • Fawned over enemy dictators while disparaging our closest allies.
  • Was impeached twice and indicted on multiple criminal charges.
  • Incited an insurrection to overthrow our government.
  • Said the Constitution does not apply to him.
  • Paid hush money to a porn actress.
  • Advocates political violence.
  • Advised men to grope women sexually.
  • Calls opponents childish, juvenile names.
  • Avoided the military himself, then callously called those who gave their lives in service to our nation “suckers and losers.”
  • Perpetually lies.
  • Believes he is above the law.
  • Cares only about himself.

And so much more. Is President Joe Biden perfect? Of course not. No one is. Is he a thousand times better than Trump? Absolutely. How deep in the sand have Trump’s acolytes buried their heads? Your guess is as good as mine.
