Check it Out: Get in season with cookbooks

The holidays are almost upon us, and that means one thing: food. Cooking, baking, eating — it’s all happening at an exponential rate over the next couple of months. If you love to cook and/or you are the designated “driver” in the kitchen, let the library help you get through November and December.

When I searched the library’s catalog for cookbooks published in 2023, I received over 150 results.

This is a lot considering that I limited my search to one year — and the year isn’t over! But this is just the tip of the iceberg (or ice cream?) because the library owns thousands of food-related titles for all ages and levels of cooks.

Talk about a cookbook-palooza!

Enjoy this random sampling of newly published cookbooks, and may the cooking (and eating) be very merry for all.

  • “Bold Beans: Recipes to Get Your Pulse Racing” by Amelia Christie-Miller.
  • “Company: The Radically Casual Art of Cooking for Others” by Amy Thielen.
  • “Pasta for All Seasons: Dishes That Celebrate the Flavors of Italy and the Bounty of the Pacific Northwest” by Michela Tartaglia.
  • “Simply Symon Suppers: Recipes and Menus for Every Week of the Year” by Michael Symon.
  • “Vegan Fast Food: Copycat Burgers, Tacos, Fried Chicken, Milkshakes, and More!” by Brian Watson.
  • “Yellowstone: The Official Dutton Ranch Family Cookbook” by Gabriel “Gator” Guilbeau.
