EAST MILL PLAIN – The Fort Vancouver Lions Club held a paper shredding and electronics recycling event at the Mill Plain United Methodist Church in October. The club partnered with FISH (Friends In Service to Humanity) to provide a way for individuals and/or businesses to shred important documents that were no longer needed. The club, working with DataSafe, also accepted electronics such as computers, tablets, phones, laptops and printers for recycling. The club was able to raise more than $1,200, which will be used for local service projects. FISH was also presented with several hundred pairs of new reading glasses that can be handed out to clients who need vision assistance.
