Jade Gruher of Union shots a 6-under-par 66 on Tuesday to take a three-shot lead at the 4A girls golf state tournament at Qualchan Golf Course in Spokane.
Gruher, the defending 4A state champion, leads Claire Chang of Issaquah and Amanda Nguyen of Lewis & Clark, who both shot 3-under 69 on Tuesday.
Camas’ Jacinda Lee is tied for ninth at 75 and teammate Jasmine Chen is in 12th at 76.
At the 4A boys tournament at Indian Canyon in Spokane, Camas’ Eli Huntington is tied for third after a 3-under 69. JJ Bordeaux of Bellarmine Prep leads after a 6-under 66.
Mountain View has two golfers in the top eight after first round of the 3A boys tournament at Indian Summer in Olympia.
Spencer Moody is tied for fourth after an even-par 72. He is two shots behind leader Max Herendeen of Bishop Blanchet.
Mountain View’s Grady Millar is tied for seventh after a 2-over 74. Prairie’s Jack Dalberg is tied for ninth at 75.
Woodland’s Dane Huddleston was the top local golfer in the 2A boys event at Liberty Lake Golf Course. Huddleston is tied for eighth after a first-round 73, four strokes off the lead.
Jack Kendrick of Columbia River is tied for 11th at 75. Washougal’s Keagan Payne and Columbia River’s Ian Schoonmaker and Alex Snyder all shot 77.
Seton Catholic’s Jacob Parker is five shots off the lead at the 1A event at Riverside Golf Club in Chehalis after shooting a 78.
