Sebastian Laddusaw of Hudson’s Bay is The Columbian 2022-23 Week 28 prep athlete of the week

The senior helped the Eagles earn a state-playoff berth

Hudson’s Bay baseball player Sebastian Laddusaw is The Columbian 2022-23 Week 28 high school athlete of the week, presented by Heavy Metal Pizza in Vancouver.

Laddusaw received 498 of the 1,022 votes cast to win the weekly honor.

Laddusaw threw a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in an elimination game vs. Rochester, then scored three runs and added a two-run triple in a state-clinching win over Ridgefield.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are the accomplishments of the other nominees:

REVAC BANFIELD, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: The sophomore won the 100 meters in 10.98 seconds and 200 meters in a personal-best 22.02 at the 2A Greater St. Helens League meet.

ZAMORAH FRAZIER, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: The freshman made an impressive debut at the 3A district meet, winning the 100 and 200 meters and the high jump.

JACINDA LEE, CAMAS GIRLS GOLF: Lee set a women’s course record at Mint Valley with a 4-under 67 to win the 4A district title by five strokes.

NAE STALCUP, PRAIRIE SOFTBALL: Stalcup went 4 for 7 with a double, two home runs and five RBI, helping the Falcons clinch the 3A GSHL title.
