Clark County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Yacolt woman Wednesday in connection with a Feb. 4, 2022, crash that killed a 51-year-old man.

Ronda Knapp, 48, was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide, according to a sheriff’s office news release. The victim was previously identified as Steven Woolsey, also of Yacolt.

Deputies, along with Clark County fire districts 3 and 13 and North Country EMS, responded at 9:08 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash in the 26700 block of Northeast Lucia Falls Road, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators determined Knapp was driving a 2000 Toyota Tacoma east on Lucia Falls Road when the truck left the roadway and struck several trees. Rescue personnel extricated Knapp and Woolsey from the pickup, according to the news release.

Woolsey was pronounced dead at the scene. Knapp was taken to an area hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the press release, both alcohol and speed contributed to the crash.

Knapp is scheduled to appear on the allegation today in Clark County Superior Court.
