Sebastian Deisenhofer scored on a penalty kick in overtime, sending the Hockinson boys soccer team to a 3-2 win over Hudson’s Bay in a loser-out match Tuesday in the 2A district tournament.
Hockinson took a 2-0 halftime lead on goals by Ryder Cole-Vogler. But Hudson’s Bay rallied for two seconds in the second half to force overtime.
Hockinson will face W.F. West on Thursday in a winner-to-state/loser-out match.
WOODLAND 2, R.A. LONG 1 — Rogeilo Guzman scored on a header off a corner kick in the 70th minute to lift the Beavers in a loser-out match in the 2A district tournament.
Woodland will play at Tumwater Thursday in a winner-to-state/loser-out match.
UNION 3, MT. RAINIER 1 — The Titans advanced in a loser-out match in the 4A bi-district tournament. Union now gets two chances to clinch a state berth, with the first coming Thursday against Olympia at Art Crate Field in Spanaway. If the Titans lose that match, they will get another shot at advancing on Saturday.
OLYMPIA 2, CAMAS 1 — The Papermakers saw their season come to an end with the loss in the 4A bi-district tournament. No other details were reported.
AUBURN MOUNTAINVIEW 1, HERITAGE 0 — The Timberwolves saw their season come to an end with the loss in the 3A bi-district tournament. No other details were reported.
NORTH THURSTON 2, MOUNTAIN VIEW 1, OT-PKs — The Thunder lost a penalty-kicks shootout 4-3, ending their season in the 3A bi-district tournament. No other details were reported.
MONTESANO 2, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 1 — The Bruins lost in a district semifinal match in Montesano. They will face Eatonville on Thursday back in Montesano in a winner-to-state/loser-out match.
Girls golf
Trio of golfers battle at 4A district — Jasmine Chen of Camas and Jade Gruher of Union share a one-stroke lead over Jacinda Lee of Camas after the first round of play at the 4A district girls golf tournament at Mint Valley Golf Course in Longview.
Chen and Gruher both shot even-par 71, while Lee shot a 1-over 72 on Tuesday.
Camas leads the team standings after putting five players in the top seven after the first round. Play concludes Wednesday.
