Fort Vancouver baseball ended a drought that stretched back nearly two years, beating Woodland 8-5 on Wednesday.
It’s the Trappers first win since May 5, 2021, a span of 38 games.
Luke Butterfield keyed Fort’s 2A Greater St. Helens League road win, going 2 for 3 with three RBI and a double.
Kaeleb Cvitkovich broke a 5-5 tie with a two-run single in the top of the sixth. The senior starting pitcher, who struck out seven over five innings, drove in three runs.

- Annika Yeh, Mountain View girls golf, was the medalist at the Rapids Invite with a 74 at Tri-Mountain to win by seven strokes.
- Dane Huddleston, Woodland boys golf, began his tune-up for district with a 66 at Tri-Mountain for medalist honors at the Rapids Invite, winning by two shots.
- Max Daniels, Ridgefield baseball, went 2 for 3 including a two-run double that keyed a six-run fifth inning in a 8-0 win over Hockinson, clinching the 2A Greater St. Helens League regular-season title.
- Jack Santic, Skyview baseball, went 2 for 4 with two RBI in a 8-6 win over Columbia River in extra innings. He hit a two-run triple to key a three -run sixth inning as the Storm rallied from 6-3 down.
- Blake Mattern, Washougal baseball, went 3 for 6 including an RBI single in a three-run ninth inning as the Panthers beat R.A. Long 11-8 in nine innings.
- Cole Robinson, Evergreen baseball, went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double and four RBI in an 11-1 win over Seton Catholic.
- Candice Adams, Battle Ground softball, went 2 for 3 with a grand slam and five RBI in a 12-1 win over Kelso.
- Jayda Peterson, Camas softball, pitched a complete game shutout, allowing five hits and one walk in a 4-0 win over Heritage.
- Maddie Milhorn, Skyview softball, went 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBI in a 11-1 win over Prairie. She also pitched four hitless innings, striking out 12 as the Storm improved to 17-0.
- Gabi Silveria, Woodland softball, went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and three RBI in a 15-0 win over Fort Vancouver.
- Renee Waddle, Columbia River softball, went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and three RBI in a 11-0 win over Hockinson.
- Holden Bea, Washougal boys track & field, won the long jump with a personal best 20 feet, 1.5 inches in a double-dual with Hockinson and Fort Vancouver. He also won the high jump (5-8) and led off the winning 400 relay team.
- Elle Thomas, Washougal girls track & field, won the 3,200 with a personal best time of 11 minutes, 12.07 seconds, which is the third-fastest time in the state among 2A runners. She also ran on the Beavers’ winning 1,600 relay in the double-duel against Hockinson and Fort Vancouver.
- Zieynita Stidum, Hockinson girls track & field, won the 100-meter dash with a personal best of 12.92. She also won the 200 in 27.13.
- Diego Bejar, Evergreen boys soccer, scored a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Kelso.
- Pablo Sanchez Barbosa, Heritage boys soccer, scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Mountain View for the first-place Timberwolves.
