Hudson’s Bay baseball scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat Hockinson 6-2 in its 2A Greater St. Helens League opener Monday at Propstra Stadium.
In his only at bat of the game, Owen Hewett came through with a two-run single that put the Eagles ahead 4-3.
Hudson’s Bay tacked on two insurance runs before nailing down a win to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Alex Haloulos Younts went 2 for 3 and Chanz Flores struck out five hitters over six innings for Hudson’s Bay.
Logan Wall went 2 for 3 and Brandon Corey drove in two runs for Hockinson, which scored all its runs in the top of the fourth.

- Decker Bartell, Mark Morris baseball, went 3 for 5 with three RBI, a home run and a double in a 16-0 win over Fort Vancouver.
- Hunter Brewer, R.A. Long baseball, allowed three hits and one run over six innings and also hit a double in a 7-1 win over Columbia River
- Chloe Shove, Evergreen softball, went 2 for 4 with three RBI and two doubles while also pitching five innings in a 20-0 win over Seton Catholic.
- Jackson Graham, Heritage boys soccer, made eight saves to earn a shutout in a 3-0 win over Evergreen.
