Raptors complete 3-game sweep of Pippins with 4-1 victory

The Ridgefield Raptors scored three runs in the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie and beat the Yakima Valley Pippins 4-1 Thursday night at Yakima County Stadium.

The Raptors (11-6) swept the three-game West Coast League series and have won seven consecutive games.

Jackson Nicklaus was 2 for 4 with an RBI and scored a run. Andy Allanson and Reiss Calvin each had a hit and drove in a run, and Jacob Sharp scored twice.

Ridgefield starting pitcher Sawyer Allen (2-1) went seven innings, allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts and a walk.

Ross Goldschlag pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth, allowing one hit.

Next up for the Raptors is six games with the Bend Elks beginning Friday. The first three games are at Bend before the Raptors return home on Tuesday for the final three games.
