Our change in the weather is underway although the main effects will take place over the weekend. A weak weather front passed through our area Tuesday afternoon with cool west winds but no rain. A dry weather front passed through little moisture to speak of.
Dense morning clouds covered the skies Wednesday with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon along with those cool breezes. Pleasant, I would say. Today and Friday we’ll have partly sunny skies and highs about average in the 70s. The cool-off really gets going this weekend with highs dropping to near 60 degrees Sunday.
Light rain is likely Saturday night and Sunday, which will be gray gloomy days. Rainfall amounts are still up in the air as some forecast models suggest we get up to a half-inch of rain through Tuesday. Others suggest higher amounts.
Along with the colder temperatures and rain, snow levels will drop to give our Cascade peaks several inches of snow. The snow will be above pass levels, but if you are hiking or camping in the higher elevations it will feel more like winter with freezing temperatures.
