RIDGEFIELD — The Port of Ridgefield has completed the sale of 5.2 acres in the Discovery Ridge area.
“Discovery Ridge was conceived by the port and the city of Ridgefield 13 years ago as a shovel-ready property to help local businesses grow and attract private investment to Ridgefield,” Randy Mueller, the port’s chief executive officer, said in a press release Wednesday.
Evergreen Builders purchased 3.2 acres at Discovery Ridge. Tom Files, managing partner and principal with Evergreen Builders, said this phase will bring multibuilding design to Discovery Ridge and broaden the range of services provided to the community.
The port also worked with Ridgefield-based FDM Development to sell 2 acres to Wash Kings, LLC, a locally owned car wash company. Wash Kings plans to build a 140-foot-long express car wash tunnel on the property. The car wash will feature a state-of-the-art conveyor belt that can accommodate oversized tires and dually trucks, and will also have 20 vacuum stalls.
Funds from the sale were reported in the port’s 2023 budget and will be used to support investments in future properties and infrastructure, including the Ridgefield waterfront.
