LANDOVER-SHARMEL — To celebrate National Senior Fitness Day on May 31, Korri Nelson came to Prestige Assisted Living at Bridgewood and taught chair yoga to residents. Nelson has been a valued member of Prestige since 2017, which coincided with the introduction of the Wellness Program in their buildings. She was among the first four coaches to join Prestige and has been instrumental in its success.
Nelson is proudly NASM CPT, (Certified Personal Trainer), an ACE senior fitness specialist, a certified cognitive stimulation instructor and a senior wellness coach at Prestige. Nelson contributes her specialties to the residents at Prestige Assisted Living to ensure that they are living healthy lives and get the most out of their later years in life.
Maintaining our physical health is important for people of all ages, and especially for older adults who become more prone to strength and balance related injuries as they age. In fact, studies show every year over 3 million older adults are treated in emergency rooms for falls, making it one of the most pressing health concerns for seniors. From chair yoga to balance classes and other programming that exercises the body and the brain, there are many ways that Prestige helps residents prioritize health and wellness every day.
