Parker Henry’s college football coaching career is back at Portland State.
The 2012 graduate of Skyview High School has been hired as the Vikings’ linebackers coach and special teams coordinator, the school announced Monday.
Henry was a defensive assistant with the Vikings in 2018, working with inside linebackers.
“Parker has a great work ethic and love of the game,” Vikings head coach Bruce Barnum said in press release. “I have known him since he was in high school.
“He is a driven coach who spent time with us before but is now back with lots more football knowledge from where he has been. I’m excited to have him with his extensive knowledge of special teams. He will bring our special teams to the level we need them to be.”
Henry spent the previous two years as a defensive analyst at USC.
He also has three seasons of experience at Oklahoma as a defensive graduate assistant (2019-21). The Sooners played in the 2019 Peach Bowl (CFP semifinal), 2020 Cotton Bowl and 2021 Alamo Bowl during Henry’s time at Norman.
