Clark County Newcomers Club donates to Hope Dementia

VANCOUVER — Clark County Newcomers Club met July 11 for its monthly coffee and business meeting. A check for $7,210 was presented to Hope Dementia, the club’s charity for the past fiscal year. Hope Dementia is a support group that assists individuals suffering from dementia, as well as their caregivers. This donation will make it possible to continue funding programs, workshops and resources for their therapeutic activity boxes. Funds were raised through a variety of activities including a Holiday Shop with handcrafted goods, a Who Dunnit mystery and a scavenger hunt. Plans will be made to celebrate the club’s 70th anniversary next year, as well as activities to support the new charity – Cascadia Tech Academy.
