Letter: Put brakes on growth

Have you felt the tsunami coming? The swell of people, cars, carbon dioxide and jam-packed housing and apartment complexes? If you are sober and alert enough then you feel it and know the crest will follow. A development crest that will swamp us and turn our bucolic county into a trodden desert complete with inadequate infrastructure, overrun schools, social decay, water rationing, higher taxes and growing foreclosures.

History has shown us that without strict regulation the “Gold Hills” will be overrun by quick-rich mentalities.  Unfortunately, you have no say (developer money rules) so grin and bear it.  Or sell out and move on, taking fond memories of what once was.

The basic problem is too many people. Can’t we say stop?  Enough!

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
