Four Days of Aloha is a celebration of the Pacific Islands starting at Clark College with cultural workshops from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today and Friday with a pa’ina event from 5 to 9:30 p.m. today. Registration is required for the workshops. Events in Vancouver’s Esther Short Park (605 Esther St.) include a Mele on the Lawn concert from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday ($27); a ho’ike event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday ($8) followed by a concert with Ekolu from 5 to 10 p.m. ($27 or $35 for both); and a Celebration of Cultures from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday ($8). The three Ts
Tacos, Tequila and Taps runs today through Saturday at ilani, 1 Cowlitz Way, Ridgefield. The weekend features top taqueros and chefs serving tacos and street fare with tequila, mescal, beer and wine, with the Omakase Taco Dinner at 7 tonight, a celebrity chef dine-around 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and the main tasting event on ilani’s garage rooftop from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday. We ride at dawn
The Vancouver Bicycle Club hosts Ride Around Clark County from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday with several scenic routes that begin and end in downtown Vancouver, plus a finish-line celebration and beer garden from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All routes begin at Bike Clark County, 1604 Main St., and include food, mechanics and support with rest stops. Helmets are required. Nonrefundable registration fees range from $25 to $65. Children 12 and under ride free with a paid adult. A window in time
See a World War II living history encampment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Pearson Air Museum, 1115 E. Fifth St., Vancouver. The museum will be open during the event with parking in the museum’s lot or on East Fifth Street. Volunteers will portray members of U.S. Army units from World War II, representing medics, cavalry, infantry and personnel from the U.S. Army Air Corps and Women’s Army Corps. See historically accurate uniforms, weapons, tents and equipment, including military jeeps and trucks from the period. The encampment is located outdoors on the west side of the museum and includes exhibits in the hangar.
