Battle Ground Public Schools announced a handful of administrative changes for the 2023-2024 school year throughout the district on Tuesday. Each of the changes, unless noted otherwise, has already been approved by the school board as of July 1.

  • Kevin Palena will now serve as the principal at the Battle Ground Virtual Academy, while continuing to serve as principal at Summit View High School.
  • Stephanie Watts will replace Manny Melo as the assistant principal and athletic director at Prairie High School. Watts previously served as the director of human resources.
  • Luke LeCount will serve as the district’s new director of human resources, pending board approval. LeCount previously served as the director of instructional leadership for middle schools.
  • Travis Drake will also provide middle school instructional leadership during the 2023-24 school year. Drake also serves as the director of instructional leadership for high schools and alternative learning environments.
