The Ridgefield Raptors couldn’t complete a road series sweep, falling to the Springfield Drifters 7-1 on Sunday.

After winning the first two games of the three-game set, Ridgefield couldn’t recover from a 3-0 hole after the first inning.

Springfield starting pitcher Hunter Dryden held the Raptors to four hits over six innings, striking out five and walking none.

Ridgefield starter Peysen Sweeney lasted just two-thirds of an inning. He walked four and allowed a two-run double to Bobby Blandford.

Ridgefield clawed a run back in the top of the second as Quinn Scott singled to drive in Andy Allanson, who led off the inning with a double.

Springfield went ahead 7-1 with three runs in the seventh inning after the Drifters loaded the bases with no outs.

Scott, Allanson and Reiss Calvin each had two hits for Ridgefield.

With Sunday’s game, Ridgefield is done with its first half of the 52-game West Coast League schedule. The Raptors (18-8) entered Sunday with a two-game lead over the Corvallis Knights (15-8) and Portland Pickles (13-7) in the chase for the South Division first-half title and an automatic playoff berth.
