RIDGEFIELD — On Jan. 10, the Ridgefield School District officials recognized the January 2023 employee and students of the month at the regular Board of Directors meeting.

January’s employee of the month is Karen Moses, who has been a part of the Ridgefield School District since 2000. The district said Moses consistently demonstrates that every student is able to learn at high levels, building a classroom community that is respectful and responsible and involves the students in community outreach with a local retirement facility.

Moses teaches her students the joy that comes from giving to others, and the relationships the students develop with the seniors at the retirement facility are wonderful to see. She steps up to help when someone needs something and is always willing to share what she has created.

“Moses represents the best of what makes Ridgefield a great place for learning,” a district announcement said. “She is an example of a true master teacher.”

January’s students of the month include Isabella Files, a pre-K student at South Ridge Elementary School; Elam Regalado, a third grader at Union Ridge Elementary School; Leighton Rogers, a sixth grader at Sunset Ridge Intermediate School; Jael Benedick, an eighth grader at View Ridge Middle School; Koda Johnson, an eighth grader at Wisdom Ridge Academy; and Brody Materson, a senior at Ridgefield High School.
