Clark County’s COVID-19 activity rose slightly this week, with 238 new COVID-19 cases reported, bringing county totals to 110,710, according to Clark County Public Health data.
Nine new deaths were reported, bringing county totals to 1,016 to date. The county remains in the low category for community risk level, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.
The Clark County COVID-19 activity rate, which measures new cases per 100,000 population over seven days, rose from 51.9 on Jan. 12 to 55.7 as of Thursday.
Clark County hospital beds saw a significant decrease in patient occupancy this week. Last week, 96.7 percent of hospital beds were occupied. As of Thursday, only 70.5 percent of hospital beds around the county were occupied. Intensive care unit beds remain near capacity with 92.1 percent of beds occupied. Patients with or suspected of having COVID-19 occupied 6.1 percent of hospital beds and 1.6 percent of ICU beds this week.
