The ninth annual Race for Warmth, produced by Clark Public Utilities, is rapidly approaching, taking place in downtown Vancouver on Jan. 29. The run raises money to support Operation Warm Heart, helping families in need who may not qualify for other assistance programs, according to a press release.

“We’re so excited to welcome everyone back to an in-person race,” Maxie Mayer, Clark Public Utilities marketing and events specialist, said in the release. “All of us employee-volunteers missed seeing all the participants and feeling the excitement in the air as they lined up at the starting line.”

The event will kick off with a free run for kids 3 to 8 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a timed 10K at 9 a.m. and a 5K at 9:10 a.m. The event will conclude with a family friendly after-party including live music, games and food.
