CASCADE PARK WEST — U.S. Marine Corps veteran Cory Martin received a surprise Veterans Day gift in November.
Martin had been battling dental issues, including a bad infection in her mouth. So, Affordable Dentures and Implants decided to provide her with free dental care as a surprise gift to honor her service.
Martin received a $29,180 procedure, including dental implant surgery, free of charge.
“We wanted to help Cory and honor her for her service on Veterans Day,” explained Dr. Kenneth Killpack, the owner of Affordable Dentures & Implants. “We know the difference that dental implants can make for a patient’s quality of life, and Cory deserves to eat and smile. She served our country, and we want to say thank you and support her.”
According to the American College of Prosthodontists, 178 million Americans are missing at least one tooth and more than 35 million Americans are missing all their teeth on one or both arches. Most military veterans, including Martin, do not receive dental care as part of their veterans benefits.
“It feels good to be recognized for my service, especially being a female vet,” Martin said. “So many other women have served and never received acknowledgement. I am thankful for this.”
