Boys basketball: Thunder trio keep Mountain View unbeaten in 3A GSHL

Jacob Martin, Isaiah Vargas and Ledarius Washington led the way as Mountain View stayed perfect in 3A Greater St. Helens League play with a 70-53 win at Heritage on Friday.

Each of the trio scored 18 points for Mountain View (8-2, 4-0).

Noah Morishige scored all of his nine points in the third quarter as the Thunder stretched a 32-29 halftime lead to 53-41.

Vernon Onick and Quincy Gill each scored 12 points for Heritage (6-6, 1-3).

MARK MORRIS 90, HOCKINSON 53 — The Monarchs rolled to a 2A GSHL home win on the night senior Kobe Parlin was honored for surpassing 1,000 career points.

HUDSON’S BAY 63, COLUMBIA RIVER 60 — No details were reported Friday night.

LA CENTER 63, SETON CATHOLIC 54 — The Wildcats overcame a slow start and finished strong for the 1A Trico win at Seton Catholic.

Seton (9-3, 1-1 1A Trico) had a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and La Center (5-7, 2-0) got back in it by outscoring the Cougars 17-8 in the second quarter.

It was only a three-point game after three quarters, but La Center put in 24 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Garrett Maunu led four Wildcats in double figures with 13 points. Cody Gardner and Boston Walker each scored 12, and Colby Hylton added 10.

Seton’s Rico George led all scorers with 20 points, and Jack Jenniges had 11.

COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 46, CASTLE ROCK 40 — Dylan Nortz scored 15 points to lead the Bruins to a home win in a Trico League game that was close throughout.

Trystin Marin scored 18 points to lead Castle Rock.
