Letter: Jesus Christ holds the keys

Jesus Christ’s ideal was all of one heart, mind and soul when he ushered in Christianity two millennia ago. Today there are perhaps as many religions and sects of “Christian” living as there are years since his death and resurrection.

Mankind’s ignorance thinks nothing of adding to or subtracting from God’s wisdom to fit their own selfish lifestyles. He warns us of this sin in Rev. 22:18-19. With so many religions to choose from, people don’t know where to find the Lord if they truly need help. Jesus says in John 14, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Churches of Christ that read and study God’s scripture for truth are a great choice. But prepare to be hated. Jesus was hated even before birth. The Lord’s prophesy tells us Christians will always be persecuted and today’s uninformed speak of Christianity as a cult.

Why would God allow evil to kill his son only to have ignorance and false religions bypass him to eternal peace? He would not. There is only one God and Jesus Christ holds the keys to his kingdom.
