With schools closing Thursday and Friday last week comes the much-dreaded addition of makeup days for districts across Clark County.

For some districts, that means pushing the last day of school into the week of June 19.

Evergreen Public Schools, the biggest district in the county, has shifted its last day of school to June 16. Students will now also have school on May 26, one of the district’s built-in makeup days. If Evergreen sees one more snow day, it will activate another makeup day on March 20. Past that point, the district will be forced to start digging into the fourth week of June.

The two snow days last week have forced Vancouver Public Schools to shift its last day of school to June 20. Students will also have classes on June 16.

Battle Ground Public Schools had three snow days last week and will shift the last day of classes for some schools to June 16. Schools on the north end of the county — Battle Ground High School, Amboy Middle, Yacolt Primary, Chief Umtuch Middle, Captain Strong Primary, Tukes Valley Primary and Middle, CAM Academy, River HomeLink and Summit View High School — have had four snow days this year, meaning they will see an extra makeup day on June 20. Schools across the whole district will now have classes on March 17 and June 15.

The Camas School District had three snow days last week, meaning the last day of school will now likely be June 20. Students will now have school on built-in makeup days on March 10 and May 26 as well.

The Ridgefield School District was closed Wednesday and Thursday of last week. The new last day of school is expected to be June 16.

The Washougal School District has already activated make-up days this year due to previous closures. The district was closed on Oct. 17 due to the Nakia Creek Fire, then had a snow day on Dec. 5. Those days are scheduled to be made up on March 10 and May 26. With the three extra days, there will be school on June 15 and June 16. The district will have to go to the school board to approve adding another day onto the school year, which would likely fall the week of June 19.

The Hockinson School District had three snow days last week, meaning the last day of classes will likely need to be during the week of June 19. Students will now have school on March 17 as well.

The La Center School District will activate make-up days on March 20 and May 26. The last day of school will now be June 15.

Woodland Public Schools has had three snow days this year, meaning the last day of classes will be June 20. Students will now have school on May 5 and May 26 as well.
