The Hockinson High School band program hosted the North County Honor Bands Feb. 3 and 4 at Hockinson High School. This was the eighth year for the event and the first time since 2020 that it has been able to be held in person.

Approximately 150 student musicians participated in the honor bands, representing seven high schools and 14 middle schools from the Battle Ground, Camas, Hockinson, La Center, Ridgefield, Washougal, and Woodland school districts. They were recommended by their band director and selected based on their ability and accomplishments.

The students rehearsed Friday evening and Saturday afternoon before presenting the annual North County Honor Band Concert on Feb. 4 in the Hockinson High School Auditorium.

Many local band directors also accompanied their students to the event.

The middle school honor band was directed by band director and author Lesley Moffat. The high school honor band was directed by Paul Bain, director of bands at Western Washington University.
