Ryan Langston beat Garrett Lees in the 160-pound division in an all-Washougal final as the Panthers placed second at the Class 2A boys wrestling regional in Aberdeen.
Washougal finished with 139.5 points to finish behind W.F. West (253.5).
Langston was one of four local regional champions, joined by Jacob McKee of Hockinson (132), Gage Newman of Columbia River (152) and Cota Stover of Ridgefield (195).
KELSO WINS 3A BOYS REGIONAL: Wrestling on their home mats, Kelso boys captured five individual regional titles as the Hilanders beat out Prairie for the team title as the 3A regional meet in Kelso.
Kelso’s regional champions were Wes Leeper (106), Ryder Newton (113), Koltin Rice (120), Justin Broxton (126) and Ethan Freund (138).
That allowed Kelso to outdistance Prairie 267-226. Mountain View was third at 184.
Prairie had four wrestlers earn regional title: Amir Lisichenko (145), Mason Frei (160), Alex Ford (170) and Seth Blick (195).
Other local individual champions included Jeffrey Chilson (132) and Nathan Wadleigh (152) of Mountain View and Austin Steinbach (285) of Heritage.
CASTLE ROCK WINS 1A REGIONAL: Skylar Ammons, Landon Fulton, Ian Burton and Stephen Ibesn claimed individual titles, leading hosting Castle Rock to the team title at the 1A regional.
Ammons won at 106, Fulton at 113, Burton at 145 and Ibsen at 160 as the Rockets outdistanced Montesano 241-179 for the team title.
Malachi Wallway (120), Aidan Watson (126), Isaac Chromey (152) and Lane Roberts (220) captured titles for La Center.
Other local champions were Ashton Baker (138) of King’s Way Christian and Sawyer Muehlbauer (170) of Columbia-White Salmon.
