Boys basketball playoffs: Evanson, Belefski lead King’s Way Christian over Tenino 60-49

Giovanny Evanson and Matthew Belefski each had a double-double as the King’s Way Christian boys basketball team beat Tenino 60-49 on Friday in the first round of the 1A district tournament.

King’s Way (13-8) moves on to host Hoquiam in the semifinals on Tuesday. Hoquiam advanced with an 86-57 win over La Center.

Evanson had 28 points and 15 rebounds plus five assists, while Belefski had 10 points and 18 rebounds. Jamison Duke added 12 points.

ELMA 47, SETON CATHOLIC 46 — The Cougars lost a first-round district game at home. The Cougars will host Castle Rock in a loser-out game at 6 p.m. Tuesday. No other details were reported.

EATONVILLE 64, CASTLE ROCK 53 — Despite a game-high 33 points from Trystin Marin, the Rockets fell into a loser-out situation in the 1A district tournament after the loss at Eatonville.

Castle Rock (8-11) will play at Seton Catholic on Tuesday as both teams look to keep their season going.

HOQUIAM 86, LA CENTER 57 — The Wildcats fell in a first-round district game on the road. La Center will host Tenino in a loser-out game at 6 p.m. Tuesday. No other details were reported.

SILAS 86, PRAIRIE 72 — Bailey Kousonsavath scored 26 points and Henry Moultrie had 11, but the Falcons were eliminated from the 3A bi-district tournament.

The Falcons ended their season 6-16.
