Letter: Hostages should be priority

In the last few weeks, the media has been filled with reports of pressure by different groups throughout the world to have Israel stop fighting Hamas.

Hamas still has over 100 hostages. At least 10 of them are Americans. Why is there little to nothing being reported on who these Americans are?

How terrible it must be for friends and relatives of these hostages to not hear the Biden administration speak of it being a priority to have these citizens released.

And why has our media almost totally ignored telling us who these 10 are, in addition to not interviewing their friends and relatives? I could understand a call for a cease-fire after all of Hamas’ hostages are released, but it seems like our country has not even tried to make that a condition of the cease-fire.

Hopefully, American citizens can put pressure on the administration to make it a priority to get these American hostages (and the others) back safely.

I find it hard to understand why this seems to be such a low priority.
