Boys basketball: Camas, Skyview fall in final games at Harwood Invite in Portland

Papermakers fall to Davis of Yakima; Skyview loses to Florida team

Ethan Harris scored 19 points and had eight rebounds and Beckett Currie added 16 points as the Camas boys basketball team fell to Davis of Yakima 75-59 on Wednesday at the Hardwood Invite at Parkrose High School in Portland.

Davis dominated in the lane, making 27 of 41 2-point shot attempts (65.9 percent). By comparison, Camas made 13 of 31 2-point shots (41.9 percent), with Harris hitting 6 of 12.

After Camas fell behind early, Currie’s basket got the Papermakers within 64-59. But then the Pirates finished the game with an 11-0 run.

SOUTHRIDGE 62, SKYVIEW 53 — Demaree Collins scored 21 points as Skyview’s comeback ran out of gas late in a loss at the Harwood Invite in Portland.

Southridge, from Miami, jumped out to 22-12 lead after one quarter. But the Storm rallied to take a 44-43 with 2:36 left in the third quarter.

Southridge took a 48-45 lead into the fourth quarter, but a free throw by Collins tied the game at 51-51 with a 3-pointer.

But the Spartans scored the final seven points of the game to seal the win.

Gavin Perdue added 11 points for Skyview, and Malakai Weimer added 10 points and seven rebounds.
