Letter: Biden gathers wisdom

By Phil Landesberg , VANCOUVER

Joe Biden has been dealt hard losses. A wife and daughter died in a car crash. He lost a son to cancer. He stuttered as a child.

In response to personal tragedies, Biden became an effective public servant who empathizes with others. He’s earned the trust of world leaders. While running for president in 2020 he met and helped help a 12-year-old boy who stuttered.

Some people gather wisdom as they grow old. Others finally face legal consequences for their actions.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
