Daniel Dolev scored 21 points as the fast-starting Mountain View Thunder boys basketball team earned an 83-50 win over East Valley at Spokane on Monday.
Dolev scored 10 points in the first quarter as Mountain View jumped to a 24-12 lead. He finished with five of the Thunder’s 11 3-pointers.
Eleven players scored for Mountain View (2-6). Luke Swerdlik scored all of his 14 points in the fourth quarter making four 3-pointers.
UNION 55, HERITAGE 33 — Nolan Frazier scored 16 points and the Titans used to dominant third quarter to earn a non-league road win.
Leading 27-23 at halftime, Union took control by outscoring Heritage 17-0 in the third quarter.
Nick Burchett added 14 points for Union (3-4).
Jose Zacarias scored 14 points to lead Heritage (1-7).
KENTWOOD 63, BATTLE GROUND 56 — Trey Spencer scored 25 points but the Tigers (3-4) dropped a non-league game on the road.
Leading 20-19 after the first quarter, Battle Ground was outscored 18-7 in the second quarter by Kentwood (6-3).
SMOKY HILL (Colo.) 58, SKYVIEW 52 — Malakai Weimer scored 22 points and the Storm nearly rallied from an early deficit in their opening game at the Hardwood Invite in Portland.
Trailing 29-19 at halftime, Skyview (2-3) pulled within 40-38 after three quarters.
Smoky Hill of Aurora, Colo., stretched the lead back to nine points in the fourth quarter. Skyview got no closer than four points the rest of the way.
Skyview will play Davis of Yakima on Tuesday.
ROOSEVELT 82, CAMAS 70 — Beckett Currie scored a game-high 34 points but the Papermakers couldn’t make up the deficit as Roosevelt (4-1) of Portland pulled away in the second half at the Hardwood Invite at Parkrose High School in Portland.
Jace VanVoorhis added 19 points for Camas (3-4), which will play Southridge of Miami, Fla., on Tuesday.
STEVENSON 49, GLADSTONE (Ore.) 42 — Chris Blackledge scored 15 points as the Bulldogs earned an opening win at the Happy Rock Invitational in Gladstone, Ore.
Stevenson (3-1) shot 16 of 18 from the free-throw line.
HOCKINSON 70, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 51 — Andrew Meier scored 18 points to lead three Hockinson players in double figures in the non-league victory at White Salmon.
Ryker Kitchen added 15 and Payton Poppe 14 as the Hawks pulled away with a 21-12 second quarter.
Hunter Wang led Columbia with 15 points.
