Step back to the 1920s at the Elks Club New Year’s Eve soiree

If you haven’t made plans for New Year’s Eve, here are two possibilities.

Vancouver Elks Club, 11605 S.E. McGillivray Blvd., Vancouver, will host a New Year’s Eve Soiree from 6 p.m. Dec. 31 to 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1.

The event invites participants to step back in time to the glamorous 1920s and don flapper dresses, boas, three-piece pinstripe suits and fedoras to ring in the New Year, Roaring Twenties style. The club will serve Sazerac cocktails and an Italian-style dinner with Caesar salad, garlic bread, lasagna and New York cheesecake. The evening will also feature music with a DJ, a dance contest, a singing contest and a photo booth, plus a countdown and Champagne toast.

Cascade Park Community Library, 600 N.E. 136th Ave., Vancouver, is hosting a family-friendly Noon Year’s Eve party from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 30. All ages are welcome, although younger kids might enjoy the celebration more. It will includes crafts, music and dancing before counting down to noon. The party is free.
