Here are the nominees for the The Columbian 2023-24 Week 10 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.
Voting will continue until 7 p.m. Wednesday.
To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable to vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.
Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.
Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.
NIAH CASSIDY, UNION GIRLS WRESTLING: The senior got two wins by pin and a 6-0 win in the final to win the 130-pound division at the Yelm Jump On In Tournament.
BELLA HEWES, PRAIRIE BOWLING: Hewes average 189 for six games, including a high game of 234 for the Falcons.
SIMON JARRELL, CAMAS BOYS WRESTLING: The sophomore got three wins by pin, one by injury default and one by technical fall to win the 175-pound title at the Tyrone S. Woods Memorial Tournament at Oregon City.
NINA PETERSON, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS BASKETBALL: The senior scored 17, 20 and 14 points as the Thunder opened the season with two wins.
TREY SPENCER, BATTLE GROUND BOYS BASKETBALL: The senior averaged 25 points a game over three games, including 43 points in a win over Evergreen.
