Letter: Public is victim of railroad

By John Nanny, VANCOUVER
Published: December 2, 2023, 6:00am

Eric Temple would like us to believe that he is the victim (“Local railroad remains diligent,” Our Readers’ Views, Nov. 24). He wants us to believe he was forced to perform major unpermitted construction in Chelatchie and at Curtin Creek. He is sniveling now that Clark County residents are simply pointing out the obvious results of his lascivious ways to our proper authorities.

We are not the ones who refused to heed instructions within the county lease or the Department of Energy. We did not bulldoze over wetlands, creeks, and endangered species streams both on Chelatchie and Curtin Creek, without even a simple engineering drawing to back the work up, let alone those pesky permits that residents must get to build a small pole barn. Instead, he provided the middle finger through a plethora of letters to Clark County. And now he snivels like the spoiled bully he is. Enough Mr. Temple. Own your mistake and make it right.
