The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will start accepting rent assistance applications at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Funding is limited.

To apply, call the organization’s office at 360-694-5388. You must speak to a staff member or a volunteer to apply; do not leave a message, as they are unable to return your call.

Before calling, check the boundary map at https://tinyurl.com/3ccpwbfn to see if you are in St. Vincent’s service area. The organization can only help those within the boundary.

If you are not in its area, visit https://tinyurl.com/2uuhjas3, where you can find resources from Council for the Homeless and other St. Vincent de Paul conferences that may be of assistance.

St. Vincent cannot assist with mortgage payments, move-in costs or deposits. If a renter owes more than two months’ rent, the agency cannot assist them. If a renter has received assistance from St. Vincent in the last five years, the organization cannot assist them.

The application process requires that St. Vincent speak to your landlord or manager, with your permission. Your name must be on the lease for your home. If your application is accepted, you will be visited in your home by a team of two St. Vincent de Paul volunteers.
