WOODLAND — Starting today, Washington State Department of Transportation contractor crews will have both daytime shoulder and nighttime single- and double-lane closures on the northbound approach of the Interstate 5 North Fork Lewis River Bridge.
The closures are expected to last until Sunday morning.
The speed limit will be temporarily reduced from 70 mph to 60 mph through the work zone and from 60 mph to 45 mph along the bridge. The traffic shift and reduced speed limits will cause significant delays. To minimize delays, travelers will need to plan ahead and travel during non-peak travel hours.
The closures precede the I-5 Northbound North Fork Lewis River Bridge – Deck Repair & Overlay project scheduled to start in late August. Once the preparation work is complete, travelers can expect an around-the-clock, temporary traffic shift lasting approximately two months.
