Columbia River, tributary fishery reports for Aug. 1-6

The Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary for Aug. 1-6. There were 270 salmonid boats and 169 Washington bank rods tallied during the count on Aug. 5.

Columbia River mainstem

SALMON/STEELHEAD

Sec 1 (Bonneville) — 38 bank anglers released one steelhead; one boat/three rods had no catch.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) — One bank angler had no catch; nine boats/14 rods kept two Chinook and one jack.

Sec 3 (I-5 area) — One bank angler had no catch.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) — 46 bank anglers kept two Chinook and one jack; 12 boats/23 rods kept one Chinook.

Sec 5 (Woodland) — 26 bank anglers had no catch; 12 boats/25 rods kept two Chinook.

Sec 6 (Kalama) — 128 bank anglers kept six Chinook and released two Chinook and two steelhead; six boats/15 rods had no catch.

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) — Nine boats/30 rods kept four Chinook.

Sec 8 (Longview) — 12 bank anglers had no catch; six boats/13 rods had no catch.

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) — 18 bank anglers released two steelhead.

Sec 5 (Woodland) — One boat/two rods had no catch.

Cowlitz River from Interstate 5 bridge downstream — 32 bank rods had no catch; one boat/two rods had no catch.

Cowlitz River above the I-5 bridge — Two bank rods had no catch; nine boats/25 rods kept 22 steelhead.

Kalama River — 13 bank rods released three steelhead.

Lewis River — Six bank rods had no catch; four boats/six rods kept two Chinook.

Drano Lake — Nine bank rods had no catch; 58 boats/145 rods kept 13 Chinook and released one Chinook and 32 steelhead.
