Evander and Yimmi Chara scored goals as the Portland Timbers earned their first road win of 2023 with a 2-1 win over first-place St. Louis City SC.

Evander scored his second goal of the 2023 campaign. He joins Dairon Asprilla and Juan David Mosquera for a team-best two goals each.

Chara made his first appearance for the Timbers since their season opener on Feb. 27 as a second-half substitute and registered his first goal of the season.

After St. Louis tied the match in the 79th minute, Santiago Moreno dribbled toward the top of the 18-yard box and slipped a pass into the path of Chara, who finished with a first-time shot inside of the far post in the 82nd minute.

The Timbers will return home to host Austin FC at Providence Park on Saturday.
