The Hockinson baseball team erupted for eight runs in the fourth inning and toppled first-place Mark Morris 11-1 on Wednesday.

The Hawks had six singles and sent 14 batters to the plate in the fourth inning, which ended with Hockinson ahead 10-0. Mark Morris pitchers also hit three batters and issued one walk in the inning.

The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. Graham Learing struck out eight and allowed just four hits and one walk in a complete-game effort.

Hockinson (9-6, 8-5) avenged a 12-0 loss to the Monarchs on Monday.

Mark Morris (13-2, 9-2) fell a half game behind Ridgefield for the 2A Greater St. Helens League lead. The Spudders beat Woodland 7-3 on Wednesday.
