Once again C-Tran is showing how clueless they are when it comes to the passengers. They have decided that since it will add 20 minutes or more for the Highway 99 Vine to go to the 99th Street Transit Center and back to Highway 99, they will just travel up Highway 99, go to WSU Vancouver and back downtown.
The only other bus runs from 78th Street to the 99th transit center every half an hour or more on weekdays. If a person is in a wheelchair or has a walker, they may have to wait an hour or more to get to where they need to go, plus they’ll have to pay extra for a transfer. A better solution would be to have the Vine travel on Highway 99 to the 99th transit center.
C-Tran has already broken the Fourth Plain route and will be breaking the Mill Plain route. What used to take me only one bus to get to where I need to go, I’ll have to take two buses and/or walk several more blocks. All I can say is I’m glad I’m a veteran and have a free bus pass for the time being.
