An early-morning house fire Wednesday displaced two people and a dog in Vancouver’s Harney Heights neighborhood.

Vancouver firefighters responded shortly after 3 a.m. to the 3400 block of McLoughlin Boulevard. They arrived to find fire coming from a window of a 960-square-foot, single-story house, according to a news release.

Crews extended hose lines to battle the fire from outside the house. Once more crews arrived, they went inside to extinguish the flames, the fire department said.

No one was injured, and the Red Cross responded to assist the people who were displaced.

Four engines, one ladder truck and two battalion chiefs responded, for a total of 19 firefighters.

The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.

McLoughlin Boulevard was temporarily closed to traffic.
