Today is Election Day for voters in Washougal and Woodland, where school districts are running funding measures to provide staff and programs not fully funded by the state.

Each measure would replace existing levies set to expire at the end of this year. Among items supported by levy funding include salaries for paraeducators, classroom teachers, counselors and additional funding for extracurricular activities such as performing arts and athletics.

More information about the Washougal School District’s proposed measures can be found at www.washougal.k12.wa.us/district-budget-information/levy/.

More information about Woodland Public Schools’ proposed measure can be found at www.woodlandschools.org/levy/.

Ballots are due at designated drop boxes by 8 p.m. today. Mail-in ballots will also be expected in the coming days, so long as they are postmarked by April 25. In-person voter registration can also still be done today.

Preliminary results will be released around 8:30 p.m. today. Up-to-date election coverage can be found soon after results are released at www.columbian.com/elections/.
